Is anybody else having a total nightmare with Netkar Pro?

I have a feeling that I've completely wasted my feckin' money, because I'm having nothing but trouble using it!!!

I emailed Stefano, and he said I could put both the 'BETA' and the [whatever version it is] onto my computer - which I have done.

The non-beta version works fine, but there are NEVER any online races to join, and I can't start my own host.

The BETA version works OK until I try to connect to an online race, then I get a totally blank 'blue screen of death' as soon as it connects, my computer crashes, and I have to restart EVERY time! It is absolutely infuriating!!! I can start an online host in the BETA version, but when I do, there is a counter that keeps timing out whenever I try to practice/race etc. I have read the manual, but I find it pitifully lacking in 'newbie' info.

Some of the extra tracks work with one version, but not the other, and I find the whole thing utterly confusing to use. Why are there two seemingly completely different versions that both do COMPLETELY different things?

I could go on, but will leave it at that for the moment...

I do think its worth the money but it can take a bit of setting up.

you added the beta version to a different folder I presume?

What operating system you using?

Hi Stable,

I am using Windows XP, 'Media Center Edition' (if that means owt?!).

I have just wiped my hard drive, downloaded a fresh version of the BETA, tried to connect to an online race, and got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH again, as soon as it connected!

The problems I'm having seem to be with the program itself/my computer. I've managed (somehow) to set up my G25 successfully.

I only have the BETA version on my PC now (since re-installing Windows).

I've used the release version for 1+ yr.
When the beta came out, I installed it on a different folder, same disk. No problems at all.
I'm running Windows 7 32b, Also I ran them in Windows XP 32b.

I'm connected directly to the hub, running as an admin.

Try using low setting for the graphics to discard problems related with GC.
And depending on the error shown in the BOSD may lead to a different path

no such issues. Not on xp before and not on vista now with both versions. No counting the online1.03 collsiosion.

Maybe its realted to your sound drivers/hardware as that is as i recall another major thing that changed. Not only the sounds but the system. It uses Microsoft XAudio2(TM) mainly for compatibaility.
Think your issue is there somewhere.


Dont forget to use the update 2 for patch 2.

Thank you for all your replies, chaps. I have now upgraded my graphics card to a 1GB, and all is working fine now.

Why can you upload new tracks to one version, but not the other, and why can't I use the Abarth in the non-beta version? If I put things in the respective folders, the game just crashes.

the abarth only came out with the beta and will only work in newer versions. Some custom tracks don't work in the new beta yet......

I have only ever seen about three people racing online in NetKar!

I wonder why it is so quiet? Don't tell me - they're all in iRacing?!

its mainly the unknown makes unloved paradigm.

Its less then polished interface, and tainted history also dont help.
Most action is in leagues.
